Cheap SSD suggestions

mickets

Greetings,

I plan on adquiring a SSD for my aunt's laptop, as the hdd not only is slow but it's kinda dying. I believe it to be best to get a cheap ssd, like Kingston A400 or SanDisk Plus.

Getting a higher end would make no sense, because all my aunt does is play Solitaire and check emails.

Which should I go for, and can I just go for 120GB or just play it safe and go 240GB?

Which brand should I go for?

Suggested prices in my country:

Kingston A400 120GB TLC ~30€

SanDisk Plus 120GB MLC ~30€

Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB TLC ~40€

Kingston A400 240GB TLC ~50€

SanDisk Plus 240GB MLC ~50€

Samsung 860 Evo 250GB MLC ~65€ (reference for a higher end ssd).

Personally I don’t know if either of those “low end” SSD’s are good or not but I’m sure they aren’t terrible so either work but I’d get th Kingston one although both brands are well known. I’d also get 120GB since it doesn’t sound like your aunt needs that extra space

Samsung is top notch

She doesn't need it, but won't windows 10 updates start to pile up space?

Samsung is too expensive for what I'm searching for. Kingston seems alright, 'cause i have a Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB running on my home media server as OS drive, and it works just fine.

Yeah I've got a Kingston 120gb that I'm going to run plex off of. I got the ssd, 3570k, 16gb of ram,  mobo, and PSU for $200. Couldn't pass it up for a plex machine.
