I was looking thru the used bin of motherboards I found a asus vanguard B85 1150 motherboard for $20 no cos battery or io shield.

Does anyone think I should get it for messing around?

Or leave it be. The shop owner says it works and I can use his 4670 to test the board b4 buying.

you shouldnt need to solder on a new battery. they usually have small battery holders on the motherboard that you can put a new one in.

If you want, but ask why no io shield. Make sure to buy a new cmos battery. Id reccomend newer systems unless you have a cpu.

I have a 4560 non k not sure if it'll still work but no harm trying

The price of it when 'new' is hardly relevant when it's an old 4th gen board that nowhere sells 'new' anymore :P

But if it works yeah $20 is a decent deal, they're about $60-70 on eBay.

Yeah it should work

Yup it works but had to pay $5 for a new battery as for the io plate it's on a case he says he'll give it to me for $5 too....

So I spent $30 for a board + a battery + a io shield well not too bad.
