Hello Geeks, i need some Help over here :)

First of all, my Servers/Workstations are inside a selfmade Closet on my Balcony and really hard to reach and/or disassemble, thats why im asking here before trying to reseat the CPU.

Problem: my dual socket Xeon E5 2696v3 (2x18C 36T) runs on a Z10PE-D16 WS inside a Grandia https://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?area=de&pid=330

CPU#1 runs under Load at 60°C Peaks while CPU#2 peaks at up to 78 or sometimes 80+°C (Coretemp).

I heard that it can be pretty commom that CPU`s run at different Temps but only +-5°C and not 20+.

My sencond Workstation for Example is almost the same setup, only difference is it has two 2670v3 (2x12C 24T) and sits on a Z10PE-D16 (non-WS). Those two CPU`s run under Load at the same Temps +-5°C.

They are all cooled by Cooler Master Seidon 120V v2.

I used the same brand and amount of Thermal Paste on all 4 CPU`s.

Even though it is really hard to reach, i can touch the Cooler and the pump is running.

I cant tell you if it was so since i installed it (almost a year ago), because i just noticed that a few days ago after installing Coretemp.

To break this down to one Question: is it worth to disassemble it, reseat the CPU with new Paste and retighten the Screws to get the temps down on CPU#2?

Thanks for any Help and Advice in Advance, excuse my English, im from switzerland.

It's probably worth just reseating the cpu block for the cpu running at higher temps. Make sure that it's evenly tightened in an X-pattern as opposed to one screw before the others.

Hi, I cant answer you question but.. i would like to know if the pc is doing good outside in the balcony? the condensation is not causing anything to the hardware?

thanks

Dan

Hey Dan, thanks for your answer. I have isolated everything and monitor Temps and Humidity. So far i have a constant 20% Humidity and between 22° and 35°C inside that Closet (depending on workload and Environment temps).

Hey WoodenMarker, i think i will do that. I did some more research and it really seems to be way more than normal differences. I will post if it worked or not.
