So I am making a budget gaming pc for fun. It will be my first desktop ever since I always use laptops. I already ordered the used pc. The thing is that the mobo will barely support a 1050ti low profile card. Would increasing the 240w psu to a 450w psu give more watts for the mobo to give to the gpu? The pc is a T573 Dell Optiplex 3010 i5-3470 with 8gb of ddr3 ram and a 1 tb hdd.

not sure how this one works. If there's a PCIe slot, it will work with the motherboard. Supplying enough power with safety worries or not depends on the PSU solely

Yes, the gpu will work. But the psu might explode. Would upgrading the psu have any affect at all? It is a micro atx mobo that uses a micro atx psu. The pc costed only $125, psu will cost $30 and the gpu will cost like $100-160.

PSUs, even the most crappy ones will shut down when overloaded. You won't draw anywhere near 240W with a 1050 Ti system, but you'll want to check how the power is distributed on the PSU.

:)
