Bad gaming performance with good hardware?

Hey guys,

I'm scratching my head with this one, I have built a pc with the following specs:

Hardware
Intel Core i5-6600K CPU @3.50GHz

16GB RAM

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (16GB)

M2 SSD

Power supply CX 550M

Monitor Predator XB281HK (G-Sync)

I suffer from FPS drops (most games), screen tearing, and a overall a lot of performance issues. CPU is usually around 40 degrees, and GPU at 70.

Any help is extremely appreciated!

16 gb VRAM?

Not a thing.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Have you tried this?

This makes my fps on games a lot more, for example on fortnite from around 100 fps to 140-180 fps.
