My budget is around 600 USD, and i am saving some for a monitor. this is my first ever build, (transitioning from a 2011 macbook pro) and any help would be appreciated <3

That's pretty good!

If you want to save a little bit more, stick with the stock cooler and ditch the Pure Rock Slim.

You can get a CM n200 case and replace the fan and current case. That will save you a couple bucks.

Nvidia Graphics cards have a very likely chance to be announced on the 20th of August, if you wait until then you could probably save some money as pascal graphics cards get cheaper

Change the motherboard to the B350 Pro4. The B350M Gaming Pro is the worst B359 motherboard.

1TB HDDs cost $3 more than the one you've selected. Alternatively, there is a 750GB HDD for $30, but with 32MB instead of 64MB of cache.

I'd just spend more for a 6 core CPU, so you have 1 less thing to upgrade in the future.

2x4GB sticks for dual channel memory

Changed mobo because MSI's B350 mobo are worse than others, while the Gaming Pro is the worst of all.

Replaced HDD with SSD. It has enough capacity to last a while, and is much faster than a HDD. Adding a HDD to a build already with an SSD is plug and play, but adding SSD to a build with HDD means moving the OS (to get the most benefit out of it), which is time-consuming.

Changed the case for more airflow

Kit it out with enough fans to fill in all the fan mounts, since budget allows.
