GPU render times in adobe after effects

Ive got a computer at work with two 980ti's (not in sli) in it and a i7 3730k. This computer is only used for adobe after effects and some other similiar applications, my question is, is having two 980ti's in this system improving performance in after effects. (should i be taking one 980ti out and putting it in another system) or will adding a sli connector improve the performance in after effects.

Not really afaik video rendering use CPU to render instead of GPU

It seems that it may.

 

Here's a forum thread I found over on Adobe which has people stating that AE reports on them oddly, but it will engage both GPUs exclusively and leverage all of the combined VRAM, depending on the task being done:

However, support is not mutually inclusive. There are other content creation applications that DO utilize multi-gpus.

 

I think having two is great for the applications that scale well.

 

As for your SLI bridge question, I have no answer.
