After hopping on GTA4 on Steam, I had fun for a while when the game firstly crashed, I thought nothing of it. I continued to play and got a BSoD. I went back on but the game was stuck loading, so I quit. On chrome, I would be frequently getting 'Aw Snap' on most pages and while watching YouTube (sometimes took 2 reloads to get to a site). In that day, in total, I had 6 BsOD's. I looked into the issue when it started getting serious (around my third BSoD) which ended me running a windows memory diagnostic and finding I had 'Hardware issues'. I took out one stick and ran again: no issues. swapped sticks in the same slot (only 1 stick in): no issues. put the stick back in the original so (2 sticks in): no issues. I am writing this around ten minutes after putting both sticks in. All seems good (I think it is, at least)

Questions I have:

1. Why did/How could GTA4 cause this?

2. Why did only reseating the ram fix the issue?

3. In the future, if I have issues, should I try reseating/swapping the sticks of RAM?

Thanks

you could boot your Bios and do a RAM check.

1 faulty sector on a Ram stick can be the problem is this is in slot 1 ( which is used first)

if you have reseated it to a later slot it will become a problem if you use more gb of ram and trigger that one.
