MSI z97 gd65 help

So it's been a few years since I have been on this forum but here I am again needing help.

 

First off my setup is this. 

MSI Z97 GD65 mobo

AMD R9 290 Tri-X GPau

EVGA 750G2 PSU

HyperX savege RAM (forget size and speed)

i5 4690k CPU

 

Ok so my rig has been running just fine but lately as am gaming the screen cuts off the sound remains but that's all. (Input via controler or keyboard does nothing) and the computer basically stops working though it remains on. I restart and nothing happens. The screen dose not come on and the computer won't boot. The final post code is A0 (I think) and changes to 04. Is this as I think, a GPU issue? 

I really need help with this am at my wit's end with it. I don't want to plow money at it unless I know what's wrong and I just can't figure it out. The GPU temps are low as I have the fan speed high ish most of the time. The noise doesn't bother me.

Do you have win 8.1/8 if you have 8.1/8 it's not that serious if you don't then try to unplug the HDD.

It's a feature for faster loading it makes a folder for the faster loading and it shows code 4

Try searching for how to stop it somehow. I don't even know how to do that when the screen is cut

But the computer has been rendered unusable due to this. Sometimes is can be an hour into gaming other times its can be as soon as I start a game.

So, your PC is stuck in sleep mode. try updating the bios with the bios flashback port. download the latest bios from the MSI website and extract it to an FAT 32 Flashdrive

I will attempt that right now. Maybe my machine will boot.

Why would the machine go into this limp mode wile on thoough?

Idk. but if it work turn off the option for fast startup if you boot successfully

Computer won't boot so going to use my laptop to get the BIOS update. Though I am not sure how to get into the BIOS if it won't boot.

it will get to a bios update whatever happens maybe.

That's great thanks. So cleared CMOS and now updating the BIOS. Here's hopping.

 

Noob question, what is CMOS?

Ok so started and booted no bother. Still showing A0 though. That ok? I'll reset the GPU fan speed as it's back to default and leave the machine and see what happens.

Ah ok so real noob question lol. I new it was import and the battery had something to do with it but wasn't sure what.

 

Yeah reset the GPU fan speed. I don't like the default speed so I have it set to 60% my old GPU died due to low speed and high temps. 

 

All seems to be working so far. Doing a few benchmarks and seems to still be running. Fingers crossed it continues to work.
