Ryzen 5 2600 and ROG Strix B350-F Gaming compatible?

Hey fellow techies,

i just wanted to know if the Ryzen 5 2600 and ROG Strix B350-F Gaming are compatible with each other.
A friend would get my old Ryzen 5 1600 and i would switch to the 2600. Is this possible or do i need to buy an X470 for it to work?

There is a good chance it's got an updated BIOS by now but if not you can just use the 1600 in there, update the BIOS, and then swap in the 2600.

only if you can flash the BIOS!

NOT out of the Box!

 

So if you have the 1600 and the newest BIOS Update, no Problemo.
