I did some googling. If you're losing sound, my only guess is that it's set to not convert sound or you're using trial software or limited software that doesn't let you convert it with sound. Try a different converter.

demux with TsmuxerGui make sure the audio is AAC and the video is H264/H265 then remux with MP4box. I think TS files already use h264 video so you just need to convert the audio. I recommend "T Audio Converter(TAC)". this method has a few extra steps then normal but should be faster then having a converter re-encode the video into an mp4 container.

What are you using the files for?

Usually, .ts files are just what MP4 videos would be under a different container.

Me and a buddy are going to start uploading gaming videos (because were original af) to youtube and this was our first one. Its all good I have the original file now and the editing can begin. Windows saved me, when I transferred the file into a different folder I transferred it from the Elgato folder which stores it as a .ts but I didn't realize that it is stored in my video folder as a .mp4 (I must have seen it there because I thought the original file I transferred was a mp4 and I somehow converted or unpacked it or something) so all is good. Also are shameless plugs for youtube content allowed on the forums lol.

Hey I was doing some video capture with my elgato and I transferred the file into a separate folder, for some reason it's showing up as a .ts file instead of a .mp4 file. I tried converting it into a mp4 file and I lose my sound. Any help would be awesome
