so basically, i have this old dell laptop (n4110 i think), it has 2nd or 3rd gen i5 core with integrated graphics and a discrete amd graphic solution or something but the thing is both of them were fried or exploded along with the battery, the battery wasnt an issue as i could buy a new one but there seems to be no point in it now that the graphic chips are gone, BUT for some bizarre reason everything works fine although very laggy except when i try to play games that require direct x 9/10/11 or D3D so to check i went to device manager to check and sure enough both the amd thing and the intel hd graphics were both disabled with one of them having the error code 22 and the other 43, it allowed me to enable intelhd graphics but then it just disabled it self after the automatic restart and when the amd graphics was enabled and after the restart, the blue screen of death freaking appeared and i could only stop it after i entered safe mode and made it use last safe settings or something, and that basically meant, to disable it. but some games worked like the last stand union city and happy wheels(these are web games) and stuff like simple rockets, i think that means they dont need a gpu to work, on the other hand even really old games like IGI 1 didnt work or web games like nplay: begone which was a game i played back in school. so my point is, is there any hope for this laptop?

i could add an external gpu but my budget is kinda lacking at only RM 100 (or a bit less than $25) also for your information if i could get this laptop to work, i would only play old games like IGI or Half Life or some other old game

I don't quite understand what you mean by it "exploded" but the way you describe it tells me that the hardware took some damage but isn't unusable (as you still get an image). It’s likely that “the explosion” fried the amd chip, or part of it, and damaged the cpu. We always say that if your power supply (or battery in this case) dies it's likely to take other components with it.

Since windows reports both gpus as problematic it's possible that the os now relies on very basic instructions for the integrated gpu in order to output a display. This obviously means that the device isn’t working properly but it can be enough for some applications.

I really wouldn't invest too much time and money in this laptop. I would just buy a new one since you never know how long it will last in this sort of state.

And backup your stuff on it NOW. The next time it might fail it could take out your hard drive.

If you find any grammar or spelling errors please fill out entry permit A38, thanks.
