Nope, because 2 GTX 970 will still only have 3.5gb Vram. And of course, all the Sli problems. Bad scaling (often only 20-50% more performance, instead 100%), microstuttering, many many games (many modern even) don't support Sli anymore, and support is going backwards - it's a dying technology.

Of course, except you get one for reaally cheap.

But a GTX 1070 for example would be by far better and superior to 2x 970s.

@ stresstest: Depends what kind of stresstest you want, for what? OC  stability? Firestrike hands down.

Overall gaming performance? Firestrike still, quite realistic, or the modern Superposition from Unigine.

Don't use userbenchmark so can't say much about that ^^

I can not find a download client for Firestrike, can you help me find?

Do you have Steam?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/402290/3DMark_Fire_Strike_benchmarks/?l=german

it's there, however, the Standard version is free. The paid version offers the Benchmark in a highe resolution and some other things. For usual comparisons etc, the Standard is just fine ^^

I do not think I get desirable FPS right now.

I think I will go for a 1080 something.

Another question, would it be worth buying another 970 and play with SLI?

like Darkseth said. Nope. SLI is really not what it used to be.

Depends on the games. My 4790k ran at 100% with a Titan black. Did it as well with a 1080. Did it with two of each card as well.

So would need a bit more detail to even consider what an “upgrade” could be.

Main RIg Lian Li O11 MINI, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

What type of details do you need?

PUBG. Forza horizon. The new BF. The new CoD. And probably more new games when it comes out :)

You’ll have a problem with cod’s and bf games at 1080. Some even at 1440 with a 1080 or 1080ti.
