Wrong H500 lol Coolermaster H500 is the one with actual airflow , or the RL06 Pro, but for some reason they're rather pricey on the CA part picker

if you end up with a 4k display, you're better off with a mid ranged GPU running games at 1080p until something faster than a 1080ti comes out to actually game at 4k high+ settings

There's no reason to buy Kaby lake anymore

no reason to buy so many fans

Should get a case with actual airflow

What do you need the PC for and what monitor resolution/refresh rate will you be gaming at?

get a newer coffeelake/ryzen cpu instead, better performance for the same price and it has more upgrade room. no ssd? don't spend so much on fans, a couple cheap ones paired with the included case fans will do. what's your budget?

A six core i5-8600K has slightly better performance than a 4-core i7-7700K.

An H100i V2 will allow for better overclocking than the H7. It also adds two (intake) fans, eliminating the need for additional fans.

SSD for boot, system, and programs is a must.

Eliminating the unneeded Noctua fans and going with the latest cpu generation enables a gpu upgrade.

A 650W psu would be better for the build, especially if overclocking.

well 9th gen intel parts are about to come out probably, might even be soldered, and the i5 8400 and i7 8700 are the best parts for coffee lake, and will do like 15-20fps more than ryzen in the average AAA game

but I wouldn't get an i5 8400 over an R5 2600 due to the lack of multi-threaded performance if it's ever needed.

The i7-8700 doesn't need an H100i v2. Use something like the Cryorig H7.

Coffee Lake i5 and i7 have a stock memory speed of DDR4-2666. There is a performance benefit using at least DR4-2666 CL14.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Hang on, what's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

Those fans are likely horrible, just spend a bit more and get an H500 or RL06 Pro

Well im planning on just getting a 1440p 144hz monitor after finish this build. What fans do you suggest? Never mind. I never read the entire sentence before typing this.

Exactly how long is that wait going to be to upgrade the monitor?

And it's likely better to just get a USB DVD drive, they should be around the same price

the cheapest decent one is the PX277N at $500 CAD

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Nvidia also announces new GPUs on the 20th most likely, so either the 1080ti will get a price drop, or it will be replaced by the 1180 at around it's MSRP

You picked a bad time to build a PC basically lol

I'd go for like a cheap RX 570 plus the monitor upgrade now, then upgrade to the like 1180/ti in the future to make full use of the 1440p 144hz display for AAA games at high+ anyways

I don't think the case you mentioned are compatible.
