Deciding GPU for my Build

Guys im new at this so i was looking around and i like both asus gtx 1070ti strix & zotac 1070ti amp edition.

 

so i was wondering anyone here could recommend which is better?

its really expensive here in singapore if i were to go for 1080 or 1080ti? but if the price is going down i will consider but still undecided on which brand should i pick

Is it overclockable ? I thought nvidia made those cards un-overclockable. Yet still 1070ti is a good match for 1080p

Yes of course they are overclockable. Nvidia just didn't allow the AIB partners to overclock the cards because the performance would be too close to the gtx 1080.

What? Where are you getting your information from? You can overclock any cards, Even crappy ones to an extent..

nvidia indeed did prohibit AIB partners from overclocking their card

but consumers can still do as they please, and some 1070Ti have "special software" bundled with them

my monitor will be 144hz. that's why now I'm thinking which is better gpu? if gpu price drop surely I will go for 1080ti

I would get the asus version. It has a standard 3 year warranty vs the 2 year warranty with Zotac. You can get a 3 yr warranty with Zotac, but it will cost you extra.

As to performance they are neck and neck. The different between them is within margin of error, but if you want the results of the testing. The Zotac was slightly better out of the box, but the asus card overclocked better with less power consumption so it performed better overall.

1080p or 1440p? As for 1080p even an RX 580 or 1060 6GB will be fine at medium settings for AAA games anyways.

Probably don't exactly need a 1070ti for that, next gen GPUs are only a few days away from being announced, as are 8th gen intel CPUs.

I tend to only recommend the better value parts like an R5 2600 or RX 570/580/1060 6GB

The 8th gen CPUs may actually be soldered this time as well, which is a major improvement for CPU cooling on Intel.
