IO shield not fitting

Go to solution Solved by Imbellis,

Yeah, they can be pretty hard to snap in. It's probably just a bit more force that's needed to snap it in.

With that being said, I'd still be a bit careful to not bend or snap the IO shield. They're also a pain to replace.

I am trying to install my Z370 ASRock fatality k6 motherboard but its IO shield is just not fitting in the back panel. I make sure I am installing it correctly, ps/2 port up and speaker jacks bottom. It installs in 3 sides if but 4th side won't snap in. I have this MSI IO shield too from my old mobo and its going in first try. I want to make sure I am not missing something before I apply more force.

Put a lot of force on the edges and corners while being careful not to cut yourself.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match.

In all seriousness, take a flat-blade screwdriver, put it in the valley at the edge of the IO plate, and gently tap it in with a hammer.

Works a treat.
