Building First PC - Budget £1000 GBP

Hi everyone,

The wife and I are about to move house and I'm able to take £1000 GBP to build my first PC.

I'm aiming for two monitors (helps with my job) and I'm not a big gamer but this is something I'm looking to put a little bit more time into. At the moment I'm just playing Football Manager using the 3D match viewer. So ideally, I'd like the following:

  • Two monitors
  • Dedicated graphics card (there's something nice about seeing a graphics card separate to the CPU)
  • Windows 10

I don't have any parts at the moment that I would be able to use so it'd have to be all new stuff.

The budget is GBP as I'm in England.

Thank you all in advance. I couldn't do this without your help and it's appreciated massively!

I'm using Microsoft Office for work (obviously not heavy power required).

I need the monitors, keyboard and mouse. I'll be starting to game more but not entirely sure which games to start with. May revisit some GTA titles

1600 is about 10% slower than 2600, but it's still more than enough. I mean, the graphics card will become the limiting factor of gaming performance before either Ryzen 5s do.

I dont trust boards with dodgy VRM cooling, especially the cheap ones because their VRMs arent that efficient from the start and good cooling design is necessary.

Ryzen benefits from high frequency memory, but sadly cant include it due to budget constraints. Sure you could buy high frequency 8GB kits, but office work itself prefers a lot of RAM, so I made this compromise.

RX 570, because that's the fastest card without breaking the budget barrier.

A case that holds ATX stuff, just in case you need that. Besides, being an ATX case with mATX mobo inside means extra space of adding stuff, say hard drives if you need one. Officially only holds 2 3.5" drives, but you can put extra drives on the bottom of the case. Just make sure you dont move the case after putting extra drives in.

These monitors are one of the cheapest 1080p IPS monitors I can find. The cheaper Dell one get mixed reviews, so I didnt pick them. IPS looks far better than TN in the colour and viewing angle department, hence far more pleasing to the eyes. This is espeically noticeable in a multi monitor setup, in which both are slightly at an angle to each other

A keyboard with Cherry MX Brown mechanical switches. Absolutely perfect for typing, without the loud noises from the Blue switches. I know it has RGB lights which you most likely dont need, but I cant find an alternative that's not from a brand I know works well.

A mouse that... works
