I currently have an AMD A8-7650K with R7 graphics, but I have been looking at other CPUs and noticed they are significantly cheaper as they use the AM3 socket while mine uses the AM4 socket. Would it be better off to replace my motherboard and CPU to get better performance on a budget or keep my current motherboard and go for the more expensive CPU range?

Are you sure your CPU is for AM4?

I'm confused, too. Isn't the A8-7650K an FM2+ CPU? (At least that's what I've read so far... :o )
