What's a J5 exactly?

That's so incredibly old it's safer to go and share needles with every hobo you meet on the street. Lol.

I believe @Team_RGB is referring to the cheap brand of peripherals called "J5create". They make USB-C dongles, hubs, adapters etc.

 

However, they are known for their "value" above all else. They do have Mac-specific drivers and firmware available for most of their devices, but they aren't always plug and play like you'd expect. 

 

They have a very low-volume market impact, I have never seen them for sale in retail here in the UK.
