Photo editing rig

Go to solution Solved by NMS,

When it comes to Photoshop (can't speak for Lirghtroom) it benefits more from core count. So a Ryzen CPU is a better choice since it's cheaper and has more cores/threads.

Ryzen 5 2600 is what I would suggest along with a B450 motherboard to save some money.

I'll leave the details to those who like posting full systems.

Edit: The more RAM the better. 8GB will not be enough that's for sure, specially if you're working with large files or files that have a lot of layers, so 16GB is a minimum.

So im planning to buy a pc soon.i will be using it for editing pictures and videos.  I will probably be using lightroom/photoshop. What sort of thing should i be looking for?

I guess something with an i7?

Bugdet is £600

Im from the United kingdom.

Any help would be much appreciated

1030 is idk... it's like, the adopted child noone likes but has to deal with

I would go with a R5 2600, you wont need an extra cooler since the stock one is good enough. B450 Mobos are cheap. Since your budget is limited any cheap case will do the work. For RAM I would stick with 8GB for now since RAM prices are insane, doesnt need to be fancy RGB, cheap barebones to save money. For the PSU my go to is the EVGA SuperNOVA G2. For the GPU I would try to get my hands on a 1060 6GB/1050Ti if not new I would try to get a used one.

Would this spec be ok for it or would it need better parts in it?

the only specs listed is a 750ti and 8gb of ram, that doesn't tell us a single thing about how good the rig is.

No. The cpu is several generations out of date (DDR3 is not used these days, 500GB hdd have not been the norm for some time, no ssd) and the psu is so over capacity that I suspect a cheap unit was installed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
