Id suggest doing the build i suggested. Skip on the case and get a good Seasonic Focus Gold PSU.

 

Buy a case later on to get a nice looking case. Untill he gets a case, just put the PC on the Motherboard box. A case isnt mandatory to begin with.

This has a very good PSU. Go to microcenter and ask for the cheapest HDD and SSD. Ask for the rest of the components and see if you can save some money
