Hi I’m upgrading my graphics card and would like to know which is better for $250. Nvidia preferred but I’m new to all this so I’m up for whatever’s the best. Thanks for any feedback. Very friendly community here.

My computer is an HP Envy 750-170se
My computer specs are:
•2Tb 7200rpm harddrive
•4gb nvidia GeForce gtx 745
•16gb ram
•I7-6700k quad processor
•300watt power supply.(going to upgrade to a 650watt once I figure out the graphics card)

First upgrade the PSU!

300W will not handle the cards we recomend here

Recomendation: RX 580 or 1060ti depends on what you can get cheaper

Thank you for your feedback. I will most likely go with the 1060, I found one for cheap I’ve been watching. I will be upgrading my PSU to a 650watt Corsair. Thank you once again

Are you in the US?

Why the hell did they stick a useless GPU with a 6700K when it already has integrated graphics that are probably comparable?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

If it's a 3GB 1060 don't bother

Just because it's corsair doesn't mean it's good.

It’s a 1060 6gb and the Corsair is a hx 650watt. I searched using the tier list someone told me about off of here.

Yes I’m in the us.

Then if the RX 580 is the same price go for that, as whenever you upgrade your display free-sync will be cheaper than G-sync to get adaptive refresh tech.

The free-sync one is $197

Not as bad as some PC shop in Malaysia, sometime they put GT730/GT710 into i5/i7 with decent iGPU when customer requested they want to "play some games" and they even paired it with an expensive 500w or 600w PSU because the graphic card need "true power" or else there will be a problem.
