Internet problems PLEASE HELP! :(

So, I have the absolute worst internet known to man kind, I swear. My provider is Century Link, first of all. I got a new modem because my Switch required a WPA2 security setting versus the WPA for whatever reason, so I had to get a new modem. This modem has been a living nightmare. For whatever reason, it will connect to phones and computers, but it refuses to connect to my Switch OR my Xbox One. Any thoughts?
