CPU for strategy games

Hi,

for strategy games such as Football manager, Civilzation series and other turn based strategies that get more and more computer demanding later in game that you are, which processor should do  better R7 2700x or i7 8700k?

Is there maybe a yt video with some sort of comparison for this strategy gaming purpose?

If not, should Linus make one =)?

8700k is better for gaming. But if your going to do other things like video editing/productivity then ryzen is better. Ryzen is also better value.

There is hardly any reason to make such a comparison/video. Strategy games will always work better with faster cores. (8700k)

Well actually most games are working better with faster cores if the CPU has atleast 4 of them. Things like Cities: Skylines are an excecption.

If you want the best get the i7 8700K or wait for 9th gen if you can.

 

Then again if you'll be playing at 60hz I don't see how it makes a difference and the cheaper Ryzen 5 line up would suffice.

I don't have the answer to the question. In case it is overlooked, the problem is not the fps, but how long the game takes while computing what happens between turns.
