I still had 5GB left and I ran out of virtual memory, and this happens often, what's up with that? Why is my virtual memory so much lower than my physical memory? Having 16GB has been worse than having 8GB due to this BS.

Virtual memory is just that. Virtual. The problem you're describing sounds like you may have it configured incorrectly or that you are really low on available disk space (virtual MEM).

Some apps though may also consume more virtual MEM and Physical Memory. A good example would be chrome or other browsers with many open tabs. Each tab is handled like its; it's very individual machine.

I don't really know what could be configured wrong, it's running perfectly well at the rated 1600Mhz and passed RAM tests (I had 2x4GB, then bought 2 more, one was from an 8GB kit and the other one was from a 12GB kit, which AFAIK, doesn't matter). What could it be? My fourth stick isn't working properly? My motherboard is having issues?

The CPU can't be the cause, since I upgraded from an i5 2500k with the same issue. And my pagefile is set to just 1GB on my SSD and 1GB on my HD, since I guessed I wouldn't need more since I have 16GB of RAM.

I just changed some VRM configs, voltage offset, LLC, memory frequency (maybe I should put it in XMP mode?) and deactivated some MOBO features, that's all I did on BIOS, and also updated it recently (also had the problem before).

I have about 37GB left on my SSD and 57GB left on my HD. Also, what you mean virtual memory is just virtual? Because it's definitely affecting my usage, because when I run out of it, my programs crash.

Your Virtual Memory / SWAP / Page should either be managed by Windows and not have a hard limit unless that limit is set to about 1/2 the size of your actual RAM. In your case if you set a limit to 1GB then once the 1GB is exhausted stuff crashes or slows down. Try setting it to 8GB or let Windows manage it for you. Also keep in mind that OS' especially windows start to see big performance hits when there is roughluy only 10% free space left on the volume.

Hope this helps.
