So im really confused i need to know what is the absolute best motherboard for my pc gaming build i was thinking of the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X FORMULA, but then i saw the ASUS RAMPAGE VI EXTREME and the price difference etc but im not so sure which motherboard is the best and i dont know what to do please help............

The Rampage is an X299 motherboard so you'd be looking at Kaby Lake-X CPUs, and the ROG Maximus is a Z370 motherboard which can be used with an 8th-gen CPU such as the 8700K.

I do not recommend an X299 build for gaming.

And it's pretty expensive compared to consumer platforms such as Z370.

 

If I recall correctly, the 8700K gets better performance than a handful of Kaby Lake-X chips.
