Where do you plug your H100i v2 Radiator Fans...

I have an H100i V2 and I'm currently using an Asus ROG Maximus IX Apex. According to the AIO instructions I shoud plug the pump power to the CPU_FAN, and to connect the radiator fans to the fan headers coming from the AIO pump. But this video says to connect the AIO pump power to the AIO_PUMP plug and then connect the 2 radiator fans to the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers.

Which is correct?

Some baords (Asus) will give you a fan error, so just use CPU_FAN and make sure the header is set to full power/speed.

The most logical in my opinion would be to plug the AIO pump header into the CPU_FAN header and the two fans to the fan headers this gives you the following advantages:

- BIOS will return a CPU_FAN error if the AIO pump were to fail

- The two fans will react to fluid temperatures as opposed to CPU temperature

Disadvantages:

- You need to remove any fan curve in the CPU_FAN header to ensure the pump receives a solid 12 V

- Custom fan curves for the fans need to done through Corsair Link (although imo the default curve is good)

If you do as the video then you will have the following advantages:

- No need to tweak the AIO_Pump header since it is 100 % always by defaults

Disadvantages

- No warning if the pump were to fail

- Fans react to CPU temperatures and not fluid temperatures

Thank you for this.
