So, being the cheap tech-head I am. I setup a L2TP VPN Server on the Amazon AWS free tier rather than paying for a vpn. Im currently using it on my phone and PC but i wanna use it on my server (for various reasons :D). Can I use a vpn on my server and still connect to it locally (192.168.1.x) and Publicly (my public ip) using RDP?

Thanks

If you use a vpn you can't connect locally to it anymore, you have to connect through your external ip(of the vpn). You can maybe set dual internet adapter acess, if you have e.g. 2 internet ports. But you'l have to google on that.

If the server can still access the LAN I believe port forwarding from the router should still function.  So far as the server is concerned it just thinks someone is accessing from the routers LAN IP address.
