I'm running a R5 2600X, 1060 6GB.

Recently I was running the folding@home program and left my computer for a bit. When I came back my pc had shut itself down. When I press the power button I get a small burst of power throughout the system (keyboard lights up, GPU lights up, slight GPU fan spin, motherboard led cycling resets to the starting color) for less than a second. Further presses of the power button have no effect until I turn the PSU off and on again. Any ideas what the issue with this might be and how I could fix it?

I actually had a similar issue where my PC powered on the then just shut itself off.

I simply did a bios reset and then it was back to normal.

Might help, might not.

My second guess would also be the PSU. Also something I experienced once....long ago. Same behavior and a b**** to troubleshoot.

How would I go about resetting the bios?

Look in your motherboard manual, there should be instructions there. Sometimes it is a simple jumper on the motherboard, but I would check the manual first!
There should be something called clear CMOS.
