I am on the search for a motherboard for my build. I have been thinking about the MSI B350M Gaming Pro but am not sure if that is the right choice for my build. I also want to get a board for >70 USD but would consider spending more if the motherboard was worth it. I would love to have a motherboard that meets all/most of my goals and is compatible with my build:

  • 2 or more DDR4 Memory Slots
  • AMD Ryzen 5 1600 compatability
  • mATX or ATX
  • RGB header

Notes:

  • I will be running 2 x 8GB sticks of RAM. I may or may not upgrade to two more in the future (also depends if there is space)
  • I will likely not be overclocking anything so that is not a concern, but please
  • I will mostly be using this CPU for gaming and homework (nothing much)
  • I am not planning on running more than one GPU, so I do not need SLI compatability or even an extra PCIe slot for a second GPU
  • My build (in case it helps): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MW7QGG

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/c2DzK8/msi-b350-pc-mate-atx-am4-motherboard-b350-pc-mate

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144029&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

before August second on Newegg then you can enter promo code: MSJULY15

this will bump off I believe 11.50, bringing the price down to $68.49, then you can do the rebate for $15.00 bringing the total cost to $53.50 (though the $15 will be in a card)
