heatsinks would be nice. that shit gets pretty hot.

If i'm not mistaken, underneath the heatsink is Voltage Regulator Module 2(VRM2). Yes it need heatsink especially the tiny one of left side of the card.

Is anyone sure it's the VRM2? if it is i can check the temp and see if it needs the sink...

 

I lurked in some forum, some said VRM2 is the small cluster on left side.

What under those heatsinks? And does it need those heatsinks or is the fan enough? 

 

Those definately are the VRMs (the small cluster on the left side and the line on the right). Next to the GPU itself these are the hottest parts on the graphics card and have to be cooled properly otherwise the card won't survive for long if it doesn't smoke up right away under full load. I found an explaination of the layout on a german forum where someone customized his card with a Prolimatek MK-26. And although he used extra large heatsinks on the VRMs, they heated up to 59°C (left side) and 97°C (right side) on his card when stressed with furmark
