Save programms before resetting your PC

Sooooo how do i start.

I want to reset my computer. I have windows installed on a 500gb ssd and also have a 4tb hard drive connected to my pc via sata. Its displaying like a external drive and thats fine.

But i also have a very bad internet connection (.3 mbit up/ 6 mbit down) which is a pain in the ass when downloading big programms.

So i want to ask if anyone here knows a way to save (for example overwatch cause its like 14gb and took almost a entiry day of downloading) so i can save it to my external harddrive and than idk move it back to my ssd while also keep ALL the settings, ( i cant really explain) make it like when i type overwatch into windows search it appears ass an icon and i can just hit enter and i will open.

i d be very thankfull if anyone can link me to a youtube vid, an article, a post or anything helpful <3

btw sorry for my bad english :/ im german and its the first time i write sth on a forum

Copy the folder of all the software you need to your HDD and copy them back once finished resetting but for your settings well, they might be everywhere, games most of the time save files like that and savegames under My Documents Folder or something like that. The best approach would be I guess to check where the savegames and ini files go for each programm.

i had a similar thing with fortnight, what i did with that is while it was installing again i paused the install (in epic launcher) moved the files to where it was downloading, exited the installer and then reopened it and it scanned the files and then let me run the game, i dont know if this process will help but it may

games installed trough steam are "essentially" portable, if you put steam (and your steam library) back where it was, steam will do a repair of itself, and after than all you need to do is test which games need extra packages installed, and install those manually from their respecive folders.

I think some games like Overwatch and Fortnite do actually save your settings on their servers, so that might not be that big of an issue, for some games anyways.
