I still have a galaxy note 5 from almost 3 years ago and I am looking for an upgrade. I love the note series and plan to stick with it. With the note 9 being announced in the next month am am debating upgrading now, or waiting for the note 10 or x or whatever it will be called. Because of the 10th anniversary of the galaxy line just like Apple the next generation of Samsung devices is supposed to be a major upgrade. But should I stick with my note 5 for another year or just buy the note 9 come September?

According to the rumours, Note 9 is to be a minor upgrade to the Note 8, just like the S9 and S9+. It'll probably have all the new features S9 has, like stereo speakers, better fingerprint sensor, and dual-aperature camera.

Personally, I think it depends on how often you use the S-Pen. If you don't really need it, you could wait for the S10+ (or whatever it's called), since it usually is cheaper than the Note series. Samsung is most likely to have a major upgrade for the S10, since this year they only did a minor upgrade. (Just a guess)

I love having the s-pen it is very useful for keeping track of assignments in school and jotting down things that I need to remember later, so I would like to stick with the note line.

I'd wait for the next Note series. This one isn't much of an upgrade, and if they're changing the S10 as dramatically as has been let on, the Note 10 will receive the same treatment plus some. I'm just getting an Essential Phone instead of a new flagship this year, as I think next years phones will be substantially better.
