Need Help

Supahh

So I recently built a pc with an i7-8700 (locked) and a gtx 1060 6gb, but I think even for a non overclocking cpu, a stock cooler and the 2 case coolers are too little for a build like this.

Is it worthy to replace my stock cpu with another air cooler, if so, what's a good one under $50. Last of all, if I do come across to replacing my cpu cooler, is it safe to remove my stock cooler which already has pre-applied thermalpaste, and then mount a different air cooler?

Will everything still work smoothly and will it affect the noise of the coolers?

CPU: Intel i7-8700

GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X

Monitor: HP OMEN 25 144hz

RAM: 8GB G Skill

Motherboard: MSI B360 Gaming Arctic

Storage: 2TB Barracuda

Start-up: Samsung 250GB SSD

Case: Corsair Spec-Omega White

PSU: ThermalTake 750W Fully Modular RGB

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition X Chroma V2

Mouse: Razer Deathadder / Logitech G502

Speakers: Logitech Z200 White / Beats Earphones

An H7 will do fine. You don’t need a cooler that’s anything above 50 at best for this cpu (I would know cuz I have it). When you replace your cpu cooler you should get some 90+ isopropyl alchohol and use paper towels (or if you wanna be safe something lint free) and wipe off the used thermal paste on the cpu and apply new thermal paste that comes with your cooler (or if you buy your own thermal paste).

What's your case?

Any of the $25 120mm air coolers should be fine unless you want a 140mm cooler for less noise.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Do you have all the fans in the front?

Because it doesn't look like there's any airflow coming from the front, should move them all to the top, the top is at least half mesh correct?

Just buy a Noctua cooler if you never want to have to worry about anything.

There aren't any cases mounted at the top of the case, I have 3 cases, which is the stock cooler on the cpu, 1 cooler on the right side as shown in the thumbnail, and one on the left side as you can see in this photo: Insert existing attachment9d78695a78dc841ed03cc658c46373ea.jpg.b705cc7056bb50ea993490ed6ca4e4be.jpg

Yes, it's fine to replace coolers. Just clean the old thermal paste off when installing the new one.

The two included case fans should be plenty for cooling already.

Where are you shopping / located?

212X might be best available in under $50AUD. By looking just stores listed in PCPP.

The Gammaxx 400 is similar but a bit cheaper: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hJFPxr/deepcool-cpu-cooler-gammaxx400

For a quieter option, PR Slim: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hyQRsY/be-quiet-pure-rock-slim-351-cfm-cpu-cooler-bk008
