I would agree if you're purely gaming. It's different if you do productive work such as editing, streaming, and video production. Those cores will go to waste if all you do is game.

8600K is great for gaming, 8400 just as good. I have an 8600K at 4.4GHz along with a 1060 3GB model.

Is the b360 Mobo the older one or is that the Z370 motherboards?

I like your build I’m gonna switch the 8400 to 8600k and go with a z370 mobo

Coffee is compatible with H310, B360, Q370 and Z370 motherboards. The B360 is one of the new Intel ones, yes.

For gaming, you're wasting your money by doing that. It won't improve the performance.

If the goal isn't performance, but overclocking for fun, also change the cooler to the H5 ($45). It's a good cooler for the price. And consider delidding the CPU. You'll also want a motherboard with at least a somewhat decent VRM. Alternatively, get something like the MSI Z370-A and strap a 40mm fan to the VRM.

:)
