Does using a tv channel app count as a provider stream?

All the device streaming limit means is that no more than [x] people can use that same app to stream from the same account, usually at the same time.

You can stream from other apps like, say, the HBO or Fox Sports app.

Hello all,

I'm currently researching between Hulu Live TV and Direct TV now and have a question regarding cable provider stream limits.

At base level both the providers i listed have a 2 device/stream limit. Does this just mean 2 devices per dedicated provider app i.e. the Hulu tv app or Direct TV now app, or can i have 2 people using the provider app and one or more signed into  a channel app like ABC app, SyFy app etc using the provider credentials?

Thanks!
