I got a pre built computer from cyberpower and it has 8 gigs of ddr4 2400 rocksoul ram. I cant find that anywhere else on the internet and I am thinking about upgrading to 16 gigs of ram. My question is do i need to find more rock soul ram or can i use any 2400 ram that is compatible with my mother board????

you could sell the ram you currently have and try to break even on the same kind of dimm, so that you can get a matching dimm evenly.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You can mix ram. Any 2400mtz ddr4 unbuffered ram should work fine.

not too sure about that. If the timing isn't exactly set the same then you will run into issue as far as I know. I am not talking about the primary timings, I am talking all the way down to some unadjustable tertiary timings. Personally, I would NEVER EVER mix.

They will all run at the same speed, the lower of the 2 normally. I do this all the time and have newer had a issue.

I have a feeling that you do not overclock. I am not too sure about this but if you do not overclock, I think it should be fine. But as far as my experiences tell me, if you mix rams and overclock, it causes weird problems like sudden frame dips and microstutters.

Never seen that probelm. You sure the ram is stable? Probably a problem with ram stability, not the mixing of ram.
