I've got windows 10 installed on a kingston SSD and it's stuck in a boot loop. I get the error "inaccessible boot device" and it pretends to do a repair but fails. I've used a USB stick to try an external repair boot to no avail. Is there a way to restore this version of windows?

I've tried:

1) all types of reverting the windows version

2) command prompt chkdsk

3) letting the tool do its own thing

4) changing boot priority in bios

5) safe mode

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Sounds like you've covered your bases, especially with doing a CHKDSK scan, safemode, and letting it attempt an auto-repair. The last thing you can try is a Windows Image repair from the pre-boot recovery environment as noted here: https://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenance/94173-how-use-dism-window-pe-environment.html

However, in my experience it often not worth the time waiting for DISM to finish, only to have it fail to repair Windows anyway, since you could have just spent that time reinstalling a fresh clean copy of Windows and restoring files from backup.

Hello fasauceome,

Hoping that you had a recovery partition... You can still try the recovery console, it is sometimes accessible by pressing F11 while the computer is booting but of course this varies between systems, try the Startup Repair and from my experience I can tell you that something as simple as System Restore can be your best friend in these type of cases.

Unfortunately, no recovery partition was present, but I've already gone in and reinstalled windows fresh, with the inportant files pulled off the drive beforehand.

Very good! Another alternative in the event anything happens in the future is accessing the recovery console during the installation process. Don’t worry about losing data if you do it this way, nothing will happen until you choose to reinstall Windows but you’re not doing that. Work your way through the installation process booting from the CD or DVD (installation media) until you find the option "Repair Your Computer". Once you get to this point the recovery options should become available to you also.

In Windows 10 they changed the interface and you are required to click on Troubleshoot and then Advanced Options in order to be able to access the System Restore, Startup Repair...
