Intel Chips 10nm performance

im Confused. I don’t understand how this works.

 

so intel make a 10nm version of the chips they make, so is the 10nm faster than the 14nm or is the idea just to keep the speed but shrink the size? Does my question make sence?

And what’s going on with the dates. The 9th gen I’m told coming out 1st August, is that a whole different thing, or is that the 10nm version of coffee lake?

9th gen is still 14nm++. 10nm is out on a single prosessor. Its an dual core i3 with no iGPU its no faster that 14nm++

 

10nm is next year. Performance is said to be the same as industry 7nm, so 5ghz clockspeed is probably the norm. 

 

Edit: probably with IPC improvements aswell
