I want to build a budget gaming pc. I am planning to use this for at least next 5 years without any upgrade. In my local market everything is so costly that i have only 2 options left in front of me.

  1. i3 8100 with 16GB RAM
  2. I5 8500 with 8GB RAM

What should i do?

Please give a suggestion.

Thank you.

With Intel it works perfectly in dual channel

On YouTube, lot of tech experts say that, if i want to use ram in dual channel, i will have to buy a dual channel kit.

Some say, if i want to use dual channel, i will have to at least buy 2 ram sticks with same capacity and speed and same latency. Otherwise, they will misbehave and system may become slower.

Are they wrong?

Please tell me brother!

They are wrong. Yes instability could occur, especially if overclocking. The first 4gb of the 8gb stick will run dual with the 4gb stick while the remainder of the 8gb stick will run single channel. This has always been the case, and generally size and speed don't matter.

I would get the best CPU you can afford and a single 8gb stick now. When funds allow, a RAM upgrade will be easy.
