ssd boot problem

recently got a dell inspirion 5676. it has a hard drive so i bought a 970 pro to upgrade it. the ssd is detected and i followed the guide here https://www.backup-utility.com/clone/clone-hard-drive-to-ssd-4348.html to move the files over. after poking around in the bios i made the m.2 the first option in the boot order. however it still boots of the hard rive. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you move every partitions on the HDD to the SSD? Can you show us the picture of the disk management?

If you don't need the data on the HDD any more, force boot to the SSD (usually F11 during POST), choose the SSD and let it boot... check everything is there on the SSD, make a backup image also if you can (better to be safe), then wipe the HDD... then you shouldn't have the problem any more.

Oh, before you do anything though, make sure you have a windows recovery disc/usb - it will be a life saver if anything goes wrong... you have been warned.

@paddy-stone it is a new machine with no extra software on it. Do I still need to create a recovery disk. If so can you link a guide. also I tried holding down f11 and it just booted right into windows( off the hardrive, not ssd).

@DaPhuc I copied over the os partition and nothing else.

Also @DaPhuc here is a picture of the disk  management.
