Powerline Adapters

I'm using a Powerline Adapter and so is my cousin, we are trying to connect to each other's Minecraft Server but we can and I haven't got a clue as to why, I thought it would be straightforward or maybe i'm doing something wrong, Any suggestions?

Without knowledge of everything inbetween those connections its kinda hard to guess.

 

What I would suspect is that you haven't forwarded the relevant ports in your router.  By default no router will allow the Internet to connect to any internal servers.

Are you on the same network? Or on diffrent networks? 

 

If on the same network are you connected to a router or trying to do a direct connection?

 

If on different networks have you tried to port forward the minecraft server?

Guys I got it sorted thanks for the feedback, I had to set a new rule in my router to connect to him
