2020 Design Rendering Farm

Here at my enterprise company, we have a team of about 25 designers, each equipped with their own laptop to design kitchens using 2020 Design. For each of their renders, it takes 30+ minutes and disables them being able to work. We are looking at a potential offsite render farm which would run Quadro GV100s in each machine for maximum efficiency. We do not have interest in using a third party rendering hub and would like to know if anyone reading this has any possible ideas or solutions on how to configure, set up, or build this machine. If there are any software suggestions, please let me know in the comments below.

how much of a budget are we thinking?

Id get a few r740's and put the gpu's into them. Put vmware exsi on there. Then make vms and setup horizon or script it somehow.

Thank you, but how would the "Manager Slave" system work? We need to be able to remotely have the machines distribute the workload.

That would all be on the program level. I don't know how your program works, but there is normally a send to server option. If there isn't just open the project on the server.

from a little bit of googleing it seems like this program does not have any option to render remotely so you would need to build stronger workstations for the designers in order to speed up the process.

Whatever software you are using will have functionality to handle all of this. You need an IT person to setup the servers and keep them updated and secure.

Also, why does this have to be offsite? It's going to be way cheaper to do it in house.

Do you happen to have any recommendations on a particular OS to use?

If you want good hardware recommendations, please tell us how you intend to use the hardware. There's rarely a single correct answer.
