Hey guys so ive been working/planning my first stream and gaming pc build. im putting a lot of time and effort into getting the money as well as lots of patience so that i can afford a high end gaming pc. Im currently running an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 cpu, MSI B350 Tomahawk AM4 motherboard, T-Force Vulcan 32gb ram, 1TB ssd, 2TB hdd, MSI Geforce GTX 1080 gpu, a corsair carbide spec-06 case, an EVGA 650w 80+ gold semi modular psu, windows 10 home, and two 120mm corsair air series sp case coolers. is anyone able to let me know if this will be able to stream? or maybe at least give me an idea? If there are any upgrades you guys think i should make for the ability to smoothly stream to twitch please give me some ideas. thank you so much!! ive never built a pc before, so im open to ideas. im hoping to run this on a 27" samsung curved 1920x1080 monitor.

Streaming will be fine on this build, the Ryzen 5 1600's cores will do nicely for streaming and gaming simultaneously, especially since you've got a GTX 1080 which won't lag behind when extra power is needed from it. :)

What cooler do you have, by the way?

ill be using the stock Wraith Spire. Is there a need to upgrade it? if so, recommendations?

I recommend getting a nicer cooler since I assume when streaming, you're there for hours, so you'll obviously want to keep your CPU cool to retain the performance while streaming. :) I recommend a tower air cooler, something like a Arctic Freezer 33 eSports, it's inexpensive and will hold low temperatures nicely.

Do you already own that hardware nor not?

There's 0 reason to use a GTX 1080 for a 1080p 60hz display.

What's your budget/country for everything? And you already have the monitor?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

If you don't have money now you should just start with a cheap R3 2200G machine when you can get it, add in a GPU in a few months when next gen ones drop, then a Ryzen 3000 CPU next year potentially.

You should be able to use ReLive to stream on the APU

Probably one of the best budget monitors. 1080p 75hz IPS

well the thing is that as of right now, im only 15 so when i get a steady income hopefully by next month, ill be able to get a great pc within months, i have the patience which means, in my point of view at least, theres no reason for me to spend 500 dollars now and 2000 later, rather than spending 2000 now and having an amazing pc that can last me a while. i hope this doesnt come off as rude or arrogant, but ive been looking into building a pc for about three months now, and i feel like it would be better for me to just jump the gun from the start. however, i am open to another perspective.

I agree here, this is what I did. Hold off until you can afford your future build. Although, since you have mentioned that you don't already have any of the components, you can drop to a GTX 1070 or even a GTX 1060 6GB for your streaming needs, since a 1080 might be a bit overkill and expensive.

But, if your eyes are on a GTX 1080, then go ahead with it, it's your build and you should be proud of it once you've built it. :)

thank you for this. I think that in my head i wanted to stream which to me meant the best of the best, but you say i can stream on a 1070? i originally had a 1050 ti, then switched to the 1060, then icreased my "budget" a bit and realized that if i had a 1080, i could stream without fear. i think the fact that i wanna go all out kind of reflects on my past a bit, where i would get a dollar and spend on something stupid. i think my mindset here is that if i save the money smartly i can feel the satisfaction of saving for months on end to get to the point i wanted. but i will take into consideration the 1070 or 1060 because i am hoping to be able to preorder anthem in time, as according to my time planning, this will be done days before its release... thank you for your advice and i will definitely look into the different part.

You aren't losing much of anything buying an R3 2200G system, since you can just throw in a GPU and new CPU whenever, At the end you're just left with the $99 APU chip itself

i think my main fear with the R3 cpu is that i need not only a good streaming pc, but also a good workstation. i need to run large files of raw images on photoshop, lightroom, and work with large files in FL Studio, so after looking at the benchmarks from the userbenchmark website from the r3, it is a little scary to see only a 46% usefullness for a workspace.

userbenchmark is useless

The R3 chip gives you a functional system you can easily upgrade later.
