I am looking to buy a laptop, the main purpose is for my study but I would also like to be able to game on it.

I am currently looking at the center of the following three laptops.

It is recommend by my university and I can buy it at discount price, listed on the site, and I was wondering what kind of gaming performance I can expect.

Does anybody know or have any suggestions for another laptop?

The minimum specs I am looking for are:

  • A multi-core processor
  • A discrete  video card
  • 16 GB RAM
  • At least 512 GB of storage
  • At least 15” full HD screen

The laptop needs to have a good battery life and should preferably not be too big as I will need to take it with met to and from campus.

My budget is ~1500€

the first two have an nvidia quadro card in them, which will not be helpful for gaming unfortunately.

I know quadros aren't good for gaming, but I will mainly use the laptop for my study and only a little for gaming. The first two laptops on that site are recommended by my university. The predator helios 300 is quite bulky and I will need to take it with me a lot so I am looking for a slightly less bulky laptop.

Because it is the only laptop I know of that meets all my requirements and fits in my budget.

Then why you're asking for recommendations? Sorry if I sound rude

I don't know a lot about laptops so I though that maybe someone else, who does know about laptops, knows a better laptop that that meets all my requirements and fits inside my budget.

What's your usage? Are you sure you need a Quadro?

I am not sure I need a Quadro, I don't know what software I will be using during university but these are the requirements my university recommends:

  • Suitable for Windows 7 SP 1/8.1/10 (64 bits)**
  • A multi-core (quad-core) processor
  • A discrete (dedicated) video card*
  • At least 8 GB of RAM (16 GB recommended)
  • At least 256 GB of storage (512 GB recommended)
  • At least 15” full HD screen (1920 x 1080)

These are general recommendations and not specifically for my study programme.

And if I buy the laptop my university recommends I also get the benefit of a 3 year warranty and on campus repair and battery and possibility to get a swap laptop while your laptop is in repair. And a good price.

No, I don't want a gaming laptop since they either don't have the battery life I want or they are to bulky (within my budget that is). Thanks for the advice I will have a look at the laptops you sent.
