Laptop Recommendations

Hi!

 

I'm currently trying to find the ideal laptop for a somewhat soon-to-be college student. Basically, it would need to be capable of performing the basics (browsing, documents, presentations etc.), be reasonably portable (a 13'' model preferably), have a good battery life, and handle tasks such as hobbyist music production, light photo/video editing, and very light gaming. Other features, such as USB-C + Thunderbolt, SD-Card reader, touchscreen, and convertibility to a tablet, are all welcome but not mandatory, though not having any of them would be a huge bummer.  4K isn't something I even considered in the first place and I don't feel a huge need for it, though I'm still open for it.

 

My budget is around 2,000€, but It'd be nice to not spend all of it if possible. I mainly want to purchase a laptop for my upcoming college years because I want a portable device on which I could do pretty much anything that'd happen to cross my mind and have it be relatively future proof.

13 inch laptops don't game so well anymore, however 15 inch 2000 Euro laptops like the surface pro and razer blade can.

Yes, gaming wouldn't be great on a 13'' but the games I planned to play were relatively light 2D games and some older titles. Besides, I wouldn't most likely play a lot of games on it to begin with so it really doesn't bother me that much.

And I've made some progress on my own end too. I've started to lean towards Asus Zenbook S, which isn't a convertible but looks stunning and has the specs I've been looking for. I'm just a bit concerned if it's worth the investment. Sure it's got most of what I want, but I'm still a bit worried about the battery, not to mention the choice between 4K touch and FHD without touch. 

 

Nevertheless, I could still use guidance and recommendations. Thanks!

Are you OK with 14 inch models? Not that bigger compared to 13 inch

 

Also, are you sure that you ignore 15 inch models?

Well, I suppose they'd be fine size wise. Although I still would much prefer the smaller option. And yes, I wouldn't consider 15'' models, they're just a bit too large if you ask me.
