Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could advise as to whether I should get a gtx 760 now or wait for maxwell to arrive? I am gaming on 1080p and am currently employing a gtx 460. I have found a gigabyte gtx 760 for 240 no rebate. Any other suggestions would be great.

It's a hard question, because there is always something new coming, so you can keep waiting and waiting. Personally i would just be a little yolo about it. (sorry)

im not sure if 240$ is a good deal or not but im NOT good at waiting if it is a good deal i would go for it, since the prices at the launch will be higher and you might still end up with getting 7XX series card

A 760 is for sure going to be a bit on the wimpy side for Star Citizen or The Division, and god knows how many games trailing in their wake that will be equally demanding. Though, if you don't mind medium to high settings in future AAA games, then a 760 might be fine.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have a similar question, as some of the forum members know I've sold my 7950 for $400 and now I'm looking for a new card. I'm pretty sure I can get a 280x for normal price from local pc stores once the new shipment gets out or I'm thinking about just getting a 770 lightning. At the moment I MUCH prefer AMD's drivers but I'm starting to hear a lot about maxwell. What are the current rumors for it's release? I know the latest AMD launch took forever to finally get launched and still isn't fully out.

rumors are rumors because there is no proof. i would just try to see if you can get an 670 and wait for maxwell with the rest of your money

IMO i'd say go with what's currently available otherwise if you spend your time waiting for the next best thing you can miss out or be dissapointed with the performance like for me i could have waited for the r9 series witch came out 3 months after i got my pc or i could have gotten a 7870 and game then so i went for the 7870 and i'm content for now however i do have plans to upgrade somethings in the future. so what i'm saying is go with the 760 but plan to upgrade eventually but not immediately.

I have an msi gtx 760 2gb gaming and I've been floored by its performance. Bf4 and ac4 for example are getting well over 60 fps on max settings on my system. I plan on buying a second for sli once maxwell comes out.
