This will hopefully be my 2nd PC build, I would like to know if this is overkill or really good for "future-proofing" or being able to be upgraded in the next few years. BTW, this will be mainly used for gaming, and the occasional video editing and rendering.

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k

Mobo: MSI Z370-A Pro

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (Thinking about 32GB, but I thought it was overkill)

Storage: 960GB SSD, 4TB 7200RPM HDD

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Gaming X 8GB

It's a good build for future proofing and if you have the money you should probably do it. But keep in mind that the GTX 11 series is about to come out so you may want to wait for that and maybe get a GTX 1170/1180 instead because they will probably be alot better than a GTX 1080!

Have a great day!

You might need a PSU and CPU cooler, and probably a case. Other than that, it's hard to tell, as you're missing some relevant information about the listed RAM and SSD, as well as which country you'll buy from.

Here is the complete part list excluding the fans which I have already picked out. I made a mistake on the case by cheaping out on it.

Thanks for the advice, as I will build this PC overtime, I will wait for the GTX 11 Series.
