So my XLR audio interface arrived today to my suprise, a day early! 

 

My question is, what are the reccomended settings for it? I wont have any instruments plugged into it just my microphone. I intened to do game play videos with it as I normally do but im not sure what settings are optimal. I have had a play around and game audio seems very loud even though Shadowplay is set at 20% for system sounds and 50% on my voice its still a bit quiet. I tried cranking the dial up full on the UMC22 but it sounded crackly and very bad when i listened back to the voice recordings. 

 

Do i need to fiddle with the settings on the PC itself or should I leave that alone? Mic volume is currently set at about 50% on Control Panel. My jack adapters are coming tomorrow so i will be able to play about with the Direct Monitor with my headphones and see if im able to get better results that way. 

 

anything else I can try fiddling with to get it right?
