How much is this worth?

Basically, I need to do fluid simulations, which need upwards of 32-64 GB of ram to run, and also a good cpu so I'm thinking threadripper. I don't need a better GPU really, but I can probs get a lot more for my system if I sell it with a gpu. Also I am running out of disk space, so I want to get a 1TB NVMe.

Gotcha.  You're in that less than 1% that uses much more than even a high end gaming PC.  I don't envy your wallet, but hope the increased production pays off.  Definitely post what you build next!

I think you could get $900-1000 CAD for that system.  I figure $700 US, so converted... roughly half what you paid to build it.

Hi,

I am considering selling my pc and upgrading it (I need more powerful hardware in all areas for my content creation). I was wondering how much my rig is worth to sell.

- i7-7700k

- Cryorig H7

- GTX 1070 (Not sure exact model but it's one of the lower end ones)

- 500GB Samsung 960 NVMe

- 16GB 2400MHz DDR4

- 750 Watt PSU

I have been using my rig for rendering (GPU & CPU Intensive) but the temps for both have been well below the max recommended at all times. I also do some light gaming a few hours a day, but it barley utilizes the gpu/cpu for that. It has no problems with anything. When I built it the total was about ~$2000 CAD.

I have done some overclocking, but as I mentioned before, I have been careful to keep max tempatures low.

Thanks a lot everyone!

:D

That's a solid system, what would you upgrade to?  More cores and a 1080Ti?

Thought about a good OC on that 7700K and getting a 1080Ti vs selling and rebuying a lot of that?

Alright that sounds good, if it's worth about 1000 CAD I can sell it to a family member who is looking for a good pc for around that price. I will post what I make next, but it will be in a few months since I still need to save up a bit more.

Thanks a lot for the insight and help :)

Best regards,
